There’s just something about Italy — the food, the colors, the spirit of togetherness — that makes it the perfect muse for a celebration. For this special couple’s shower, we brought la dolce vita to life with bold flavors, fresh citrus, and a whole lot of charm. Here’s how we created a memorable, Italian-inspired moment right at home.

The Bar: A Spritz Station Worth Toasting

Our signature drink setup was a true crowd-pleaser, featuring a DIY spritz bar with all the essentials for a refreshing sip:

  • Aperol Spritz

  • Limoncello Float

  • Paloma Spritz

We stocked Italian favorites like Aperol, Limoncello, and Peroni alongside sparkling San Pellegrino Essenza and playful mixers like Cointreau and blood orange soda. A custom “Saluti!” sign pulled it all together with hand-painted lemon art and Italian flair. Want to recreate this at home?

The Spread: Grazing Table Goals by Boards by Court

No Italian-inspired event is complete without incredible food. We had an unforgettable charcuterie display that was as gorgeous as it was delicious.

The grazing table featured:

  • An assortment of Italian meats like prosciutto, soppressata, and salami

  • Imported and local cheeses, including burrata, brie, pecorino, and fresh mozzarella

  • A rainbow of seasonal fruit — grapes, berries, and citrus slices

  • Bowls of olives, marcona almonds, and rosemary crackers

  • Pizzas of various kinds topped off the menu

All beautifully styled with layers of greenery, gold accents, and Mediterranean textures, it was the perfect centerpiece for grazing and gathering. Whether guests were sipping a spritz or snacking on cheese and fruit, this board brought the entire celebration together.

Décor and Details

Blue and white tile prints, fresh lemons, and natural wood tones made the perfect backdrop for the shower. We used:

  • Bright citrus as table accents

  • Mediterranean-style platters for serving

  • Coordinated linens and paper goods in soft blues and golds

Everything felt warm, elevated, and joyful — just like a summer in Positano.

Host Tip: Keep It Casual, Keep It Charming

We hosted this celebration at home, which created a cozy, welcoming vibe. Guests mingled, my husband served as the bartender, and they enjoyed every little detail at their own pace. Hosting at home also gives you the chance to focus on thoughtful touches that reflect the couple’s personality — and save on rental costs, too!

Ciao for Now!
This couple’s shower was proof that you don’t need a passport to experience Italian magic — just a little creativity, a few key ingredients, and the people you love most. Whether you’re planning your Italian-themed event or just looking for summer party inspiration, I hope this brings ideas to your next gathering.
